A declaration of love, one of the most beautiful.

"Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars, let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars... fill my heart with song and let me sing forever." Isn't that one of the most beautiful declarations of love that you can sing, with words other than, "I love you"? It is always a wonderful moment for us when we get to perform this jazz classic by Bart Howard from 1954 in our current program. In recent weeks, we have had the opportunity to play in some amazing venues and meet wonderful people, from one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world in Blaibach, in the southernmost part of Germany, to the beautiful town of Ahrenshoop in the far north on the Baltic Sea. One of the highlights was undoubtedly our debut at the Jazz Days in Dresden, where we performed with the trio in the new Ostra Studios. Here is a short excerpt with the classic "Fly Me to the Moon." "Flieg mich zum Mond, lass mich zwischen den Sternen spielen und lass mich sehen, wie der Frühling auf Jupiter und Mars ist ... erfülle mein Herz mit Gesang und lass mich für immer singen." Ist das nicht eine der schönsten Liebeserklärungen, die man mit anderen Worten für "Ich liebe Dich" singen kann? Immer wieder ist es für uns ein wunderbarer Moment, wenn wir in unserem derzeitigen Programm diesen Jazzklassiker von Bart Howard aus dem Jahr 1954 zusammen musizieren dürfen. In den letzten Wochen konnten wir zwischen einem der schönsten Konzerthäuser der Welt in Blaibach, im südlichsten Teil von Deutschland bis ins wunderschöne Ahrenshoop im hohen Norden an der Ostsee, tolle Spielorte und Menschen kennenlernen. Einer der Höhepunkte dabei war sicherlich unser Debüt bei den Jazztagen in Dresden, wo wir in den neuen Ostra-Studios mit dem Trio aufgetreten sind. Hier ein kleiner Ausschnitt mit dem Klassiker "Fly Me to the Moon". Film ab!
